Top newspaper report-Rivers: Amaechi’s ADC, CSO, Lioyd ‘on the run’

Indication emerged yesterday that the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Acting ASP Debeware Semeikumo, the Chief Security Officer (CSO), Mr. Tony Iwelu, and the Majority Leader of the Rivers state House of Assembly, Hon Chidi Lioyd, were on the run.
A police source at the Force Headquarters in Abuja disclosed that the trio, who were summoned by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, in connection with on-going investigation into the crisis rocking the Rivers state House of Assembly, were deemed to be on the run as they were yet to respond to the police invitation.
The officer, who
spoke on condition of anonymity, said the police had already declared Lioyd, who is representing Emohua state constituency in the assembly, wanted over alleged conspiracy, attempted murder, wounding, and willful damage after he refused to honour the police invitation on July 15, 2013.
According to him, the force was set to do same in the cases of the ADC and the CSO, who, he said, were also yet to report to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) as directed by the IGP.
Lioyd, who was reportedly last seen in the assembly on July 9, is believed to have, alongside the ADC and the CSO, gone into hiding following their alleged roles in the crisis rocking the state legislature as portrayed in the video clips in circulation.
When contacted, the deputy Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr. Frank Mba, would not confirm or deny that Lioyd and the security personnel had not reported to the FPRO claiming that he has been out of Abuja on an official assignment.
