Fashion statement: Classy and beautiful

For some dresses you need not say much...

Fashion or Madness: It's Lady Gaga again

Why do we always feel like we're playing fashion detective when Lady Gaga is involved asked Enews
Probably because there is rarely any rhyme or reason to her ridiculous style! The avant guard attire is something we can get behind, but this dance workout meets mosquito-net get-up is beyond our understanding! So, once again, let the guessing games begin!
She will dress with the intent of not making a fashion statement but perhaps to get attention either way. The most important thing is she gets you talking anyway. There is simply one way to describe what she represents here...crazy.

Newspaper report-Eto’o Seals One Year Deal with Chelsea.

Chelsea has signed Cameroun striker Samuel Eto'o on a free transfer from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
The 32-year-old joined the Premier League team on a one-year-deal.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was Eto'o's boss at Inter Milan when they won the Champions League in 2010.

"It wasn't a hard decision. I saw the qualities Chelsea have, and I was very happy with Jose Mourinho before, so when the opportunity came, I was very happy to take it," Eto'o said.

"I am very happy to be here but also anxious because I want to get playing as soon as possible."

Mourinho moved for Eto'o after two Chelsea bids for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney were rejected.

Earlier this week, it emerged Rooney was not prepared to force a move by handing in a formal transfer request, effectively ending the Blues's hopes of signing the England striker.

Four-time African Footballer of the Year Eto'o was a key part of Mourinho's Champions League-winning Inter side, and became the highest-paid player in the world when he moved to Anzhi in 2011.

The Russian club has also sold Brazil attacking midfielder Willian, 25, to Chelsea after billionaire owner, Suleyman Kerimov, decided to significantly reduce the club's budget.

Eto'o started his career at Real Madrid but was loaned out to Leganes and Real Mallorca before making a permanent move to Mallorca in 1999.

The striker, part of the Cameroun team that lifted the African Nations Cup in 2002, won the Copa del Rey before joining Barcelona in 2004

During his time at the Nou Camp, he won the Champions League twice - in 2006 and 2009 - scoring in both finals, as well as winning the Spanish league three times.

In 2009, Barcelona paid Inter Milan £40m plus Eto'o for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the striker went on to win the Champions League again in his first season under Mourinho at the San Siro.

He joined Anzhi, where he reportedly earned £167,825 a week, in 2011.

Newspaper report-Broken Marriages: Now A Thing Of Pride For Nigerian Celebrities .

The continued crave of some entertainers, especially in the Nigerian movie industry to part ways after months or years of marriage is becoming an issue not only to their families but to many of their ardent fans. E-GIST investigates celebrities whose marriages have not turned out to be as rosy as expected.

The recent trend of broken marriages of Nigerian actresses has becoming a natural phenomenon and a recurring decimal which if not checked could mislead the youths (the girl child), according to Godwin Ocheje.

In the beginning, they hoped to achieve it big in the entertainment industry promising God and their families that things would go well when their dreams and aspirations come true.

But on the contrary, the industry changed them unlike their counterparts like Omotola Jalade who has been married for more than a decade now and is waxing stronger and stronger in her marriage.

But the issue now is... what are the factors responsible for these break-ups? Why are the ladies the ones involved in this development?

While some say it is a way of being free from any man’s command as a husband, others believe that it’s due to lust for numerous men and not wanting be under the control of a man who would never want them to star in any obscene role or what not that is prompting their wanting to be free.

For Monalisa Chinda, it was alleged that the reason for her marriage breakup with her ex-hubby, Dejo Richards, was money.

According to reports, the actress, who had particularly been the bread winner of the household, could not handle the heat of her wealth, part of which comes as Globacom ambassador and decided to let loose what she has been holding together over the years. Her marriage produced one beautiful daughter.

Also Clarion Chukwura is one actress who has been married twice but is now single. She has laid the blame for her failed marriages as the price she has to pay as an artiste.

While Eucharia Anunobi-Ekwu’s case was that of infidelity, she stated that she wanted her marriage with Charles Ekwu to last. But the ex-hubby had other plans as he depended on the actress for his own welfare and that of the family until he was caught red handed making love to their 13-year-old house girl.

As for Jennifer Eliogu and husband, the marriage crashed months after she delivered her second son where she lost her husband to a Swiss woman and their apartment at Lekki.

But for Fred Amata and Agatha, their case has always served as a case study of Nollywood couple whose marriage hit the rocks as a result of infidelity.

Disappointedly, Ngozi Ezeonu was reported to have packed out of her matrimonial home many years ago on account of her husband’s alleged infidelity as he dumped her for another woman whom he got pregnant.

Then came Shan George who was believed to have first gotten married as a teenager but left the marriage after giving birth to two boys and later walked down the aisle with a US-based guy, Tony Nwaosisi, but found out that the man was married to another woman who had given him children at the time of his marriage to Shan, so she decided to quit the marriage for good.

But recently, Chika Ike, Nollywood actress, finally achieved her divorce from her estranged husband but she may run the risk of being blacklisted by fans as loads of criticisms keep rocking her boat since she publicly announced that she’s officially divorced.

While some said scenes from many of her movies might be responsible for her wanting to be single, others said it’s a move to get sympathy from fans. The actress took to social network, Facebook, on July 29, 2013, to announce to her teeming fans that the court had finally granted her a divorce.

“Hi fans. Thank you all for your love and support over the years. It’s been an emotional journey and I want to announce to you guys that the court has granted me a divorce. I’m now officially divorced. Thanks,” she posted.

But in swift disgust, her fans seem not to be okay with the news as lashes of words started pouring in. While just few congratulated her and urged her to move on with her life, many didn’t find the news funny, criticising her of going public with her divorce as if it was a good development.

According to Tracy, he frowned at her not being able to show a difference from other celebrities who couldn’t hold their marriages. He urged her to take her time to think instead of happily declaring that she has divorced.

Prince Charming said: “What an announcement! Just more like a thanksgiving. Well, who knows, maybe it’s better this way for her.”

Another fan by the name Flavia called Chika a “stupid woman” for being happy that she’s again a single woman when many ladies are out in search of men to call their own.

According to another fan, he said the actress is lucky her ex-husband, Tony, has been quiet about it unlike Funke Kindele’s ex-husband who gave the actress a public disgrace. He advised her to move on with her life instead of washing her dirty linen in the public.

“Chika we have heard you o! You are going around announcing your divorce as if it is a good thing. You are lucky that Tony is a good man and he is highly literate that he hid your secret. You know what you did now. Thank God you do not have an agbero husband like Funke Akindele’s husband who disgraced her in public. Take a chill pill and stop bringing his name into the news. The guy has moved on, so move on with your life. Very soon you’ll say you need your privacy. Learn to keep some things within the family,” He said.

Funke Akindele:

For this sultry actress who has been in the movie industry since her teenage years, the news of her divorce was disheartening not only to family members but to her fans. In a statement she released confirming the divorce according to nigerianfilms.com, it read: “On behalf of our client, star actress, Funke Akindele, we want to formally inform you that after due consultation and consideration, she’s now separated from Mr Kehinde Oloyede as his wife. She hereby urges her fans and all concerned to pray and wish her the best as she moves on in her career. Kindly note that this is the first and only official statement from Funke Akindele on this matter and she will be glad if her wish be respected. Thank you.”

So will this be the end for the actress or would she continue searching for the right man?

Ini Edo:

The media hype and jamboree of Ini Edo’s marriage was awesome when she got married to her Europe-based husband. In an interview with the actress, she stated the distance between them was not a problem as they knew how to sort themselves. But little did they know that things were not right as the news broke of their divorce. According to nigeriafilms.com, Ini Edo was not happy and the reason was that it was alleged that pressure was being mounted on her handsome husband, Philip Ehigwina, by his family members to dump the charming actress.

According to what tale bearers told nigeriafilms.com, Ini Edo’s in-laws are not happy that the glamorous actress hasn’t given them a child after about four years of marriage.

“These Edo people are just too funny. They have already told Philip to send away Ini Edo since she can’t give them a child,” one of the gossips told nigeriafilms.com.

Another said: “But come to think of it, why would Ini Edo’s in-laws interfere in her marriage?”

This was quickly answered by the first busy-body. “That’s Edo culture for you. Their sons don’t have much say in their marriages.”

Newspaper report-How I survived cancer – Vast of singing group, Bracket .

After seven months of undergoing treatment for Lymphoma, a type of cancer of the blood, in Platinum Medical Centre, Wellington , London , Nwachukwu Ozioko, popularly known as Vast of the singing group, Bracket is back. He returned to the country last week and was treated to a grand reception by his friends. In this interview, Vast who is still recuperating recounts how he battled with the deadly disease and came out alive.

How did it happen?

I don’t know what to say, but first of all, I want to give thanks to God. I was very sick. Before I went to the hospital, I attended a couple of shows. I wondered how I was able to perform at the shows because I was seriously ill. My partner, Obumneme Ali a.k.a Smash and I had series of shows and in a situation where payment has been made, I had no option than to grace the stage. We decided to round off our shows late last year in order to enable me take care of my health in 2013. But unfortunately, up till January, this year, we were still going for concerts. We even had to travel to Australia to stage a concert.

Then, I was visiting one of the hospitals in Lagos, and that was where I was diagnosed. They carried out all the medical examinations, and when the results came out, the Haematologist advised me to seek for further treatment abroad.

If you have travelled to America or any Schengen country within two years, you can apply for a Priority Visa and we were qualified to do so. We applied and within four days, the visa came out. We met a friend in the UK who introduced us to his brother who is a Medical Doctor. He assisted us and we met a Haematologist who advised that I should re-run all the tests again.

The only thing we didn’t do was the surgery which I did back home before I was diagnosed of suffering from blood cancer. After everything, they started with the treatment they called ‘Bone Marrow’. It wasn’t an easy one, it was very difficult. I thought I would loose all the blood in my body but thank God I survived it. After a week, I started having complications, I had to return to the hospital to have blood transfusion after which I felt better. We spent a lot of money. At a point, I was hopeless and was only praying to God for His mercies.

After the second chemotherapy, I started exercising because the doctor advised me to do regular exercise. However, it was after the third chemotherapy that the pictures I took while in the hospital leaked. By then, I was already bouncing back to life because I passed through the valley of the shadow of death. After the fourth chemotherapy, we shot a video, ‘Temperature’ in London .

I didn’t even know I could do that. I initially thought the cycle would be six but before the fifth chemotherapy, the doctor informed us that it was going to be eight. I got confused at that point and even doubted what they were doing. I thought they just wanted to milk me because it was expensive. My manager, partner and Chief Executive Office however encouraged me to complete the treatment.

I was only going to the hospital, then to the gymnasium and back to the house. After the seventh chemo, I was told to do a Lumber Punch- they would have to inject my spine. It was done after the fifth chemo and it was very painful. I thought I would be paralysed. I was told the Lumber Punch was necessary to prevent the disease from getting to the brain. At that point, our account was almost in the red.

Luckily, a friend known as Ugonna came to London during my third chemo and was moved when he heard that we had accommodation problem. He later gave us some money to look for one. Ugonna was the only person that assisted me financially apart from the prayers and encouragement of my fans and the media. I did the Lumber Punch and lost a lot of blood.

Two days after, I went to get another chemo. When one undergoes chemo, it kills both the good and the bad cells and flushes out all the blood in your system. So, you have to be refreshing. Imagine losing so much blood after the Lumber Punch and after the chemo. I was almost a dead person. My colour overnight. I remembered what the doctor told me that cancer is not the problem but the treatment.

After a week and a half, I started exercising, taking juice and everything that would help build my blood again. I was finally cleared from the hospital and I thank God for His mercies. A lot of people came to our house to rejoice with us when we returned to the country during the week. I want to thank them. The likes of P-Square, Jimmy Jatt, Dammy Krane, KCee, Chidinma, Illbliss, JMartins and many others.

What kind of cancer did you have?

I had Lymphoma. It is a blood cancer. When I asked the doctor what could the cancer of the blood, he said, nobody knows the cause for now. According to him, it’s like a situation where a dark complexion couple making a baby and the baby turns out to be an albino and if you are asked to explain why, you cannot tell.

I must say that when I was hospitalised, my partner was doing a good job. He would call the producer and they would make a beat and send it to me. He even made the chorus. I picked one of the songs when I came back and hit the studio. We did one of the tracks, it was fantastic. We did another song and it was good as well, all within two days.

During the seven months of your ordeal, what kept you going?

What kept me going was God. Before I went for the treatment, I saw myself dying slowly. We got the visa and contacted the Medical Doctor that attended to us. It was no doubt the handiwork of God. This doctor handles only cancer related cases. My family, my manager, partner and CEO were there for me. We travelled together. They made sure I was well taken care of, while my ordeal lasted.

Interestingly, when the picture I took while in the hospital leaked, I was reading the outpour of love, prayers and soothing words from my fans. Some of them even said, they would die if I die. Then the press guys were there for me. They were keeping tabs of my progress and informing my fans duly. All of these, did a whole lot in keeping me going. That’s why I got the courage and I know that it has always been God, my family, the media and my fans.

What have you learnt from your experience?

I learnt that life is very precious. No matter what you do and wherever you are, don’t look down on anybody because you don’t know who will help you tomorrow. Another thing is that you don’t have to be scared of death. You have to face the challenge. Live a normal life. If you are scared of death, you will die. At a point, when I got very scared, the sickness came in full force, but when I started picking courage, it subsided and I recovered.

Newspaper report-I’m Disappointed In You, Wizkid Raps Jmartins.

As the verbal spat generated by rave singer Wizkid’s controversial comment on Instagram calling fan of his “broke person” rages on, a bad blood is already brewing between him (Wizkid) and one of his senior colleagues, JMartins, who happened to be the first celebrity to react to the issue.

“I never called any of my fans broke….that comment was directed to one person that insulted me…not a fan. You have been in this industry long enough to know better than this and I’m very disappointed about your statement,” Wizkid reacted to JMartins’ comments via Twitter on Monday.

Wizkid had written “Broke people always think they have an opinion” to a fan on his Instagram page, after erroneously typing ‘About to perform at this wedding with an hangover! Jah Guide!’.

This led to a particular fan with Twitterhandle @spruzman to send a reply ‘Correct urself man… see d reason why you should go back to school. Lol’

But the fan’s advice didn’t go down well with Wizkid. And his harsh response elicited retaliatory tweets from angry fans.

As soon as the hot exchange went viral, J Martins, as a guest on Hot 98.3 FM Abuja last week, admonished his younger colleague over his coarse reaction to his fan.

His words: “I am not taking any side, don’t mean no beef, no disrespect, and no hate but let the truth be told. I don’t believe because you feel you have a few change you didn’t have a few years ago and which you cannot guarantee having in a few years to come then you wake up and look at those people who have cheered you up, loved you, supported your music, bought your CDs, prayed for you. Just because you can lay your hands on some phone and you call them ‘poor’. I am not in and will never be in support of anyone who has such bad attitude.

“It needs to be corrected; we owe our fans the duty of being good examples. That is why they hold us in high esteem. That is why you are a role model and if you know you cannot be a good role model you have no business in music. You don’t know if it’s that person that might help you tomorrow. Whoever does that should be checked. You have to decide why you are in the music industry. If you know you cannot be a role model then you have no business being there.”

Few hours after his reactions hit the blogsphere, the contemporary highlife star also took to the Twitter to clear the air, saying the reports credited to him are false. “Let it be known that I never blasted @wizkidayo as falsely reported. There is no point trying to create a controversy that doesn’t exist,” JMartins tweeted on Monday.

But EME/Starboy Records leading act was not convinced as he considered JMartins’ comments during the radio chat as a direct attack on him.

However, a top on-air-personality with a leading Lagos urban radio station, yesterday morning cautioned other rising stars like Wizkid to take it slow on how they use their Twitter and Instagram in the sharing of their thoughts, especially once they know they aren’t alcohol free.

“These guys should mind what they post on their Twitter and Instagram page as they have millions of fans following them and watch over their messages. Guess, Wizkid should take it easy in his reaction to this whole saga,” the popular broadcaster said.

Newspaper report-God’s Favour and Hardwork Made ‘Limpopo’ A Huge Success -Kcee Confesses.

No doubt, every music artiste that storms the studio to put up vocals on beats always boasts of how the song will be accepted even before it hits the radio stations.

You get to hear phrases like ‘I just cooked a mad jam’, ‘this song will surely be a hit’, ‘just left the studio doing a mad song’ and so on, but not all eventually turn out to impress their close associates or family members, let alone the general public.

In 2002, KC Presh, which consists of two singers, emerged the debut winner of the Star Quest Music Talent Hunt Competition. Since then, they struggled to hit the mainstream, but this was not to be and they went their separate ways in 2011, when the centre could no longer hold for them as a singing duo.

But since then, only KCee has stolen the hearts of many music lovers even across Africa, but Presh has not been able to make much impact in the music industry.

After the release of ‘Okpekete’, KCee released ‘Limpopo’, which has now fetched him an endorsement deal with telecoms giants, MTN, and the deal is said to worth millions of naira.

The talented singer attributed his phenomenal success to God’s favour and hardwork in a chat with Nigeriafilms.com,, KCee stated that it was God’s grace that made his music accepted by the populace and made it what it is today.

“I will say my success has been by God’ favour, blessing hardwork and consistency, I am excited and appreciate the fact that people like what I have been doing for the past years,”KCee told us.

Speaking on why he went solo, he said, “I think it was the right time for me to do my own thing as KCee and not as KC Presh.”

Newspaper report-Tiwa Savage gets ready for November wedding.

Tiwa Savage is getting married in three months’ time. That’s right; the beloved music maker is saying goodbye to the bachelorettes’ club in November 2013.

Nigerian Entertainment Today has confirmed that Tiwa will be tying the knot with her fiancé and manager Tunji ‘T-Billz’ Balogun starting with an engagement ceremony on November 23, 2013which will be followed by a white wedding which is expected to hold in early 2014 on the island nation of Maldives.

The couple are yet to make an official statement on this but has already kicked off plans for what is expected to be the biggest wedding in the latter part of this year.

Maldives, officially known as the Republic of the Maldives and also referred to as the Maldive Islands, is an island nation in the Indian Ocean with a population of less than 400,000 people.

Already, Tiwa in the company of her friend, Beth Models CEO, Elohor Aisien travelled to the Maldives in July. Apparently, reports have it that the ladies went to pick out venues and plan other wedding details. Sort of reminds us of when Annie Idibia initially travelled to Dubai to pick a venue for her star-studded wedding to 2face Idibia back in February.

Then Tiwa gave the world a much stronger hint when she posted a photo of her and Tunji (while at D’banj’s sister’s wedding) with the caption ‘Baby we’re next’. The pair for a long time had been rumoured and reported to have been dating. While this of course was true, it was only known as ‘industry news’. Tiwa and her publicist often denied the relationship.

But on January 24, 2013, things got a bit clearer when the pair travelled to Dubai for a holiday getaway at the Burj Al Arab HotelDubai, United Arab EmiratesThe couple spent a week only to return to Lagos for Tunji to make a formal proposal on February 5, 2013 which coincidentally was Tiwa’s birthday. ‘The power to deny their relationship grows weaker by the day, they are really in love with each other’, a source close to the couple told us back then. ‘Now that they have announced their status to everyone, the tension will cease.’

It truly did cease as the couple made yet another red carpet moment for the photographers at Tiwa’s album listening party in late May 2013, this time not bothered by any subsequent report. Efforts to get both Tiwa and her man, T-Billz to reveal further details of the proposed wedding have not been fruitful.

Tunji has played a very instrumental role in Tiwa’s life and music career; the couple met in the USin 2009. Tunji who had listened to one of Tiwa’s demo earlier met up with the singer with the latter taking up interest in her music. Tunji and Tiwa decided to change the direction of her music to fit the Nigerian sound as they planned a comeback – the result of that was her Nigerian debut single, the smash hit ‘Kele kele love’.

Friends of the couple say Tunji (who had already gained experience working as Sauce Kid’s manager under QBeatz shortly before) was a strong pillar behind Tiwa and instrumental to her success. Tunji reportedly has two children from a past relationship.

Newspaper report-Health Benefits Of Moringa tea .

Regarded for thousands of years in the East as a key to good health, happiness, and wisdom, tea has caught the attention of researchers in the West, who are discovering the many health benefits of different types of teas.

Studies have found that some teas may help with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes; encourage weight loss; lower cholesterol; and bring about mental alertness. Tea also appears to have antimicrobial qualities.

Although a lot of questions remain unanswered on how long tea needs to be steeped for the maximum benefit, and how much one need to drink, nutritionists agree that any tea; including those from herbs is good because of its medicinal properties.

Recent research, for instance, suggests drinking herbal tea made from moringa may help to improve quality of life of a person with sickle cell disease. In the study, researchers found that extracts of the leaves, flower and seeds of moringa were able to reverse a red blood cell that had sickle back to its normal shape and as such could be an adjunct for care of people with sickle cell.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) has become a challenge in the African continent with about 89 per cent of global sufferers of SCD. About 25 per cent of the SCD patients in the world are in Nigeria. Hence, this confers on Nigeria the highest population of sickle cell disease patients in the world. SCD is caused by a genetic abnormality in the gene for haemoglobin, which results in the production of sickle haemoglobin.

When oxygen is released from sickle haemoglobin, it sticks together and forms long rods, which damage and change the shape of the red blood cell. The sickle red blood cells cause the symptoms of sickle cell disease. Children are born with sickle cell disease; it is not contagious. Symptoms of sickle cell crisis include: severe pain, anaemia, joint pain, chest pain and difficult in breathing.

The findings, which suggested that Moringa oleifera may play a role in the management of sickle cell disease, by incorporation of its fractions into recipes was carried out by Olufunmilayo E. Adejumo; Adelodun L. Kolapo, and Akintomiwa O. Folarin.

The 2012 study entitled “Moringa oleifera Lam. (Moringaceae) grown in Nigeria: In vitro anti-sickling activity on deoxygenated erythrocyte cells” was documented in the Journal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences.

Moringa tea is made by harvesting fresh leaves from the Moringa tree and drying them at low temperatures to preserve the vital nutrients that will be released into the tea water. Dried leaves are then shredded and either retained in their loose form or bagged as bags. The leaves are steeped in hot water for several minutes in a traditional tea-making process.

In this study, which was a follow-up to use moringa tea in folk medicine as an analgesic and for the treatment of pain and inflammation, the researchers assessed the anti-sickling potential of methanol extract (ME), aqueous extract (AqE), ethyl acetate (EA) and butanol (BU) of the seeds, flowers and leaves of Moringa oleifera.

For the study, blood samples were obtained in duplicate from a confirmed sickle cell disease patient (HbSS) attending the Haematology Day Care Unit of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Nigeria.

The study’s finding included that extracts of the seed and flower fractions demonstrated a significantly higher antisickling activity than the leaf extract. In addition, they pointed out that the best tea from moringa plant is that made from its flowers and seeds.

The researchers suggested that the antisickling properties of Moringa oleifera could possibly be due to its innate antioxidants and phytochemicals, adding that the contribution of phytochemicals to the anti-sickling activity of any medicinal plant used in the management of SCD is not in doubt.

According to them, Moringa oleifera has been reported to contain a rich store of elements like zinc, which possesses antisickling activity, as well as organic acids. The leaves are also rich sources of flavonols and Phenolic acids which could be responsible for the exhibited antisickling activities.

However, they stated that considering their finding that both butanol and ethylacetate fractions of MO leaf could cause destruction (lysis) of red blood cells depending on the concentration used, is an important factor that must be taken into consideration in the inclusion of MO leaf in the recipes for SCD treatment.

Usually, the mode of preparation of MO in traditional recipes, as stipulated by herb sellers, was by decoction with clean water.

Meanwhile, they wrote: “The fact that Moringa oleifera exhibits antiurolithiatic properties(prevent kidney stone formation) may also advance its use in SCD patients, particularly to enhance renal (kidney)function. “

Given the findings, which suggested that Moringa oleifera may play a role in the management of SCD, by incorporation of its fractions into recipes, they said more extensive biological evaluations and further studies will be necessary for the chemical characterisation of the anti-sickling principles.

In addition, moringa oleifera has been reported to contain a rich store of elements like zinc, which possesses antisickling activity, as well as organic acids as well as flavonols and Phenolic acids which could be responsible for the exhibited antisickling activities.

However, they stated that considering their finding that both butanol and ethylacetate fractions of MO leaf could cause destruction (lysis) of red blood cells depending on the concentration used, is an important factor that must be taken into consideration in the inclusion of MO leaf in the recipes for SCD treatment.

They explained that the observed significantly higher antisickling activity of aqueous extract in this study supports the herb sellers stipulated method of preparation.

The Moringa tree has great use medicinally both as preventive and curative. Much of the evidence is anecdotal as there has been little actual scientific research done to support these claims. Its range of medicinal uses include prevention and treatment of cancer, protection against ulcer as well as in the lowering of blood pressure. Its healing ability and antibiotic properties have been demonstrated.

Newspaper report-Skin Care For Women In Their 40’s And Beyond.

Your 40s is a time for sweet reminiscences. You can look back at your life and bask in the warmth of cherished memories be it school times, college years, love, career, marriage, children and even grandchildren! However, the 60s is also a time when your skin needs intensive care and nourishment because age and time have taken a toll on it. Here are some tips to rejuvenate your skin during your 40’s so that your skin feels firmer and becomes more radiant.

A Proper Diet

Skin care is as much about what goes into your body as it is about what you apply on the outside. Therefore, unless you nourish your body from within, there is no way you can seek healthy and glowing skin. Make sure you eat a proper diet comprising of vegetables, fruits and whole grains. As you grow older, you should increase the intake of Vitamin A and Vitamin E enriched foods. This is to replenish the natural amount of vitamins within the body. Vitamin A and Vitamin E promote new cell growth within the skin surface and make it appear more radiant. This is essential for the natural cell regeneration process of the body. So make sure you eat lots of green and yellow vegetables.

Always Wear Sunscreen

All the prime signs of aging like wrinkles, fine lines, age spots and sagging skin are a result of prolonged and unprotected sun exposure. Make sure you use a broad spectrum sunscreen that protects the skin against the UVA as well as the UVB rays of the sun. The ultraviolet radiations of the sun can penetrate the skin surface and cause intrinsic damage. Apart from promoting premature aging and damaging skin tissues, it can also lead to skin cancer. Therefore, the importance of applying sunscreen cannot be undermined at any cost.

Use Rich Moisturizing Creams and Lotions

As we age, our skin loses moisture and becomes dry and tight. It develops a wrinkled texture and appears dull and lifeless. This dryness is caused by the hormonal changes, loss of moisture from the upper layers of the skin and a decrease in intracellular lipids. Always remember to moisturize your skin with a rich creamy moisturizer at least two times a day, once in the morning just after bath and once at night before going to bed. Make sure you clean your face thoroughly before moisturizing. Ideally, choose a moisturizer that contains ingredients like retinol and alpha hydroxyl acids. Use a rich moisturizing cream or lotion that is thick in consistency and nourishes the skin intensively.

Drink lots of Water

Fats are an intrinsic part of the skin structure and are responsible for the plumpness and firmness. However, with age, the fat layer begins to shrink and fails to regenerate this process further leads to the loss of moisture and causes dryness and wrinkles on the skin. By drinking lots of water, you can replenish the lost moisture levels and hydrate your skin intrinsically.

Follow a Special Skin Care Regimen

As we age, our skin becomes dry and fragile and can be easily ruptured. And once damaged, it takes a longer time to heal as well. Therefore, you need to use a specialised skin care regimen that supplements your skin with intensive nourishment and care. Use mild creamy cleansers to wash your face and gentle scrubs to exfoliate. In addition, you can also use skin care products that contain retinoid and anti-oxidants that help the skin regenerate the cells.

Newspaper report-Okorocha, Catholic doctors at war over abortion law !

There’s an ongoing war between Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha and Catholic Medical Practitioners Association over the abortion bill, which the governor recently signed into law.
The law, which was sponsored by the Majority Leader and member representing Ahiazu Mbaise state constituency, Mrs. Adekunle Ihuoma, is to be cited as “Imo State of Nigeria, Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law Number 12 of 2012”.
It permits every woman to procure abortion at will.
According to the new law, every woman shall have the right to enjoy reproductive rights, including rights to medical abortion in cases of sexual assault, rape, incest and where the continued pregnancy endangers the life or the physical, mental, psychological or emotional health of the mother.
The law also states that “every woman shall have the right to take decisions about her health needs and requirements.”
The law was very specific that a woman “shall have the right to determine the processes concerning reproduction in her body.”
However, the decision of the state government on the bill does not go down well with members of the Catholic Medical Practitioners Association, who have described the law as anti-God.
Chairman of the association, Dr. Phillip Njemanze, while reacting to the new law, said “the law is anti-God, dehumanizing and totally unacceptable to the association.”
“The law is devastating. With its signing into law by Governor Okorocha, abortion has been legalized in the state and anybody, just anybody can now ask for abortion as a right in the state.”
He recalled that the National Assembly had earlier rejected the bill, especially as it was against humanity, noting that the law would encourage human trafficking.

The Pastor has refused to speak because according to him, God said he should say nothing. But i have asked questions which I failed to get answers to and that is why I write.

The entire situation has been analyzed both on blogs and twitter. Nothing seems hidden about It anymore. Its all in the open now. However, my mind has not stopped asking certain questions. I will look at this
