Top newspaper report I can't ignore-Achebe’s body arrives Nigeria May 19.

The body of the late literary giant, Prof. Chinua Achebe, is expected to arrive in Nigeria on May 19, 2013, the day Christian religious activities in his honour will kick off at the National Christian Centre, Abuja. Achebe passed on in the United States on March 22, 2013.
National Mirror learnt that stakeholders, especially his townsmen from Ogidi, Anambra State, would participate in the activities lined up to honour the late literary giant. Already, several committees have been constituted to ensure that the late Achebe gets a befitting burial. Aside the National Committee based in Abuja, there are the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, South East geo-political zone, Anambra State and Ogidi town committees. They are to ensure that the late novelist gets the best possible burial.
A symposium is expected to hold at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on May 20. It is to be coordinated by the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA). It will also feature cultural displays by troupes drawn from all the geopolitical zones of the country.
After a reception at the National Assembly on May 21, Achebe’s body will be flown to Enugu where it will be honoured briefly at the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo headquarters and the University of Nigeria Nsukka before being presented to the five South-East governors.
A brief ceremony is, however, expected to take place at Amansea, (the town where about 30 bodies were found floating in a river some weeks ago), but National Mirror, gathered the brief ceremony does not have anything to do with the incident that happened in the town.
Amansea is a border town between Enugu and Anambra states. Enugu State Governor Sullivan Chime is expected to hand over the body to his Anambra State counterpart, Mr. Peter Obi, for onward movement to Awka.
