Fashola Bans ‘Molue’ From Entering Lagos Island

The news below is not coming as a surprise to many because long before this release, I cannot simply tell the last time I saw the Molue bus on the island. Without an official ban, the operators of the Molue had since banned themselves technically from plying the island route. Anyway like many have argued, The governor will continue to put in place whatever favors him and the elite. Whether true or not.....

Fashola is at it again. Just when Lagosians are adjusting to the ban on Okada, Governor Fashola bans Molue. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority is to commence an enforcement of the law banning 911commercial buses, otherwise known Molue” from operating in Lagos Island area.General Manager, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Babatunde Edu, stated this during a meeting with stakeholders’ and branchchairmen of the Lagos Urban Bus Owners Association of Nigeria (LUBON).Edu reminded participants at the meeting that the new directive had become effective since August 19,adding that LASTMA officials have been given directive to ensure strict compliance by impounding any vehicle that violates the rule after the September 4 deadline.According to the new order, Molue buses are not allowed to cross any link bridge into the Island and such and they include Third Mainland, Eko and CarterBridges.LASTMA general manager however stressed that molue operators are free to operate in other parts of the state excluding the restricted areas. This is serious what will the poor masses to do. No more Okada and Molue.- See more at: http://www.akpraise.com
