Borussia Dortmund beat Real Madrd 4-1 Any hope for Madrid?

With the way Dortmond played against madrid, and looking at how Bayern played against Barca on tuesday, we can comfortably say that German football has the perfect antidote for Spanish football. Spanish football build its game around a player while Germans play as though every Man in the team has the game built around him. Barca has their own on Messi, Atletico Madrid on Falcao and Madrid on Ronaldo. The Germans have shown with the Semi final that football is about the team and not about an individual.

Looking at the game played by Real Madrid tonight and the pattern of play undertaken by the German side, you will discover that Mourinho did not learn his lesson. Going by the defeat in the group stage and the draw they had with Dortmond, Mourinho should have known better than to play the way he did. All Mourinho needed in that game was to play with guise who could go forward and return quickly. Khedira and Ozil, though Germans did not have that ability. Playing Essien and Kaka would have done that for him. His mid field was left flat and the very worse about his defense exposed.

The coach of Dortmond knew
one thing about Real, he knew they played with the wings with deep support from the Mid field. But putting players in the mid field to stop them and playing intelligent strikers upfront only left Real wondering if they were awake or dreaming. Robert Lewandowski only took his chances as he did nothing spectacular but what he did in itself was enough to produce the spectacular.

We saw Barca cancel out Ac Miland who won at home emphatically in the quarter final but I don't see Madrid turning this one around even with the away goal advantage. Madrid played like babies in attack and they could not even take the game to the Dortmond defense. The long passes did not work for them. What you need to play Dortmond is short passes and players playing close to themselves and not throwing long balls that never get to their destination.

Can Madrid turn this one around? Any thing can happen in football though, but not on this one. I have a feeling Mourinho will still get the line up wrong and that will back fire again. We may see an all German final in Wembley. For those who are disappointed, take heart, that is football.
