The photos found their way online after Rihanna's weekend performance in Newark, New Jersey, as part of her Diamonds World Tour.

Top newspaper report- Job-for-sale racket: Dead civil servant signed employment letter !

The table has turned on the two whistleblowers, Mrs. Rose Odey and Idachaba Tijani who paid N250,000 each for fake jobs in federal ministries. On Tuesday, Odey and Tijani testified before the joint Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs and Employment, Labour and Productivity on how they each paid N250,000 to Juliet Egobunor and Simon Odujebe for employment in the Ministry of Land and Housing and Trade and Investment Ministry.
But the table turned yesterday when the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Deaconess Joan Ayo described the two employment letters tendered by Mrs. Odey and Idachaba as mere “photocopies.” They could not produce original employment letters. The two acknowledged that they were given photocopies, which was what was used to register them as staff of the ministries where they worked before they were apprehended. Besides, Ayo also informed the joint committee that the Ahmed S. Dantanko who

Top newspaper report-Police IG and tinted vehicle glass

THE Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar, needs to exercise utmost restraint in the enforcement of laws on tinted glass in vehicles. Obviously worried by the worsening insecurity across the country, the police authorities are falling back on a number of laws in the statute books to address the challenge. Understandably, terrorism is a potent threat that must be crushed. But they need not inflict unnecessary pain on the citizens by stretching the provisions of the laws too far. The Senate is, therefore, right in considering a bill to stop the Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps and other security agencies from harassing people who use vehicles with factory-fitted tinted glass. The ban should be on the use of a tint beyond permissible limits.

Top newspaper report-PENGASSAN, NUPENG threaten strike over crude oil theft.

WORKERS’ unions have threatened to shut down crude oil production if the government fails to take decisive steps to stop the over 250,000 barrels per day being stolen in the Niger Delta.
The unions, Petroleum and Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), lamented the level of stealing of crude oil which the government estimates to be about 10 per cent of the country’s total production of about 2.5 million barrels per day. According to the workers, the stealing remains a serious threat to national security because the people who are making such large amount of money from the illicit business can destabilise the country.
PENGASSAN industrial relations officer, Chika Onuegbu, gave the hint of the impending industrial action in a paper which he delivered at a forum organised by Space for Change on the Petroleum Industry Bill in Port Harcourt yesterday.
Onuegbu explained that workers are worried that if crude oil theft is not expeditiously contained, it will obviously lead

Top newspaper report-FG spends N158bn on N’Delta amnesty.

Federal Government of Nigeria has so far expended over $1 billion (N158 billion) on the amnesty programme since 2009. Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, disclosed this yesterday, while delivering a lecture at the first Ochendu Youth Empowerment Series, held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, Abia State.
At the lecture, titled: ‘Youth Empowerment as Panacea to Insecurity in Nigeria’, Sanusi regretted that Nigeria, like most developing nations, is faced with numerous socio-economic challenges, which include unemployment, poverty, insecurity and conflicts. He, therefore, recommended youth empowerment for their active participation in economic activities, as part of the solution to these challenges. The Federal Government proclaimed and granted unconditional amnesty to Niger Delta militants in 2009 and pledged its commitment to institute programmes to assist their disarmament, demobilization, rehabilitation and re-integration of repentant militants.

Top newspaper report-Boko Haram amnesty: Why we made U-turn, by Dr. Doyin Okupe

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, gave reasons yesterday the Jonathan administration reversed its earlier position not to grant amnesty to the Islamist sect, Boko Haram. He said President Goodluck Jonathan had to bow to pressure from notable personalities from the North, who pleaded for an amnesty deal to stop further killings by the sect. Okupe gave the explanation during a visit to the corporate headquarters of The Sun Publishing Ltd in Lagos.
He was accompanied by the Special Assistant to the President on Public Relations, Dr Olusanya Amosan, the Director, Digital and Social Media, Churchhill Umoren, the Director, Media, Bamidele Salam and the Publicity Secretary, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos State, Taofik Gani. Okupe, who

THE Federal Government, yesterday, shifted blames for the problem of power in the country on the 30 years of military rule, just as it said that planning was relegated to the background during the period.

Borussia Dortmund beat Real Madrd 4-1 Any hope for Madrid?

With the way Dortmond played against madrid, and looking at how Bayern played against Barca on tuesday, we can comfortably say that German football has the perfect antidote for Spanish football. Spanish football build its game around a player while Germans play as though every Man in the team has the game built around him. Barca has their own on Messi, Atletico Madrid on Falcao and Madrid on Ronaldo. The Germans have shown with the Semi final that football is about the team and not about an individual.

Looking at the game played by Real Madrid tonight and the pattern of play undertaken by the German side, you will discover that Mourinho did not learn his lesson. Going by the defeat in the group stage and the draw they had with Dortmond, Mourinho should have known better than to play the way he did. All Mourinho needed in that game was to play with guise who could go forward and return quickly. Khedira and Ozil, though Germans did not have that ability. Playing Essien and Kaka would have done that for him. His mid field was left flat and the very worse about his defense exposed.

The coach of Dortmond knew

Suarez banned for 10 matches by FA

Luis Suarez is out for the rest of the season after receiving a lengthy ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.

Ajareera 24 Apr 2013 14:45
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was banned for 10 matches by the English Football Association on Wednesday for biting an opponent during a Premier League match, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said Suarez and the club were 'shocked and disappointed' at the punishment.

The FA said in a statement that a three-man independent panel ruled that the regular suspension of three games for violent conduct was 'clearly insufficient' after Suarez bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic on the upper right arm during the 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday.

He wasn't sent off because the referee didn't see the incident, which was reviewed retroactively.
Suarez has until Friday to appeal against the extra seven games added to his sanction.

Daily Post Boko Haram: Granting amnesty to a faceless group is a mockery – Cardinal Okojie

Respected Catholic clergy, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, has advised the government to be cautious in its approach towards finding a panacea to the security crisis in the country by ensuring that justice prevails.
He made this statement in reaction to the recent committee set up by the Federal Government to explore the possibility of granting amnesty to members of the Islamic outlawed sect, Boko Haram.
Okogie, while condemning the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians and destruction of property by the angry sect, said it would be unreasonable to rush into granting amnesty to members of the sect without due consideration of the legal, moral and political implications of such a move.
He noted that such move might send a wrong signal that there was nothing wrong in using criminality to fight perceived injustice.
The cleric, Okogie, in a communiqué issued by Rev. Father Stephen Okojie, Director of Social Communications, Catholic Archdiocese of Benin, Edo State, said, “I am not against considering amnesty if the situation

Daily Post-Yoruba people will not benefit from APC or Buhari as president – Presidency

The presidency, Tuesday described the official closure of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, as a political suicide on the part of the leaders and chieftains of the now rested party, saying that people of the southwest would not benefit from the merger.
According to the presidency, the Yoruba of the South West would not identify with the All Progressives Congress, APC, which the ACN dissolved into, because the only attachment with the party by the people of the region was its identity as a regional party.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, while reacting to the development said that it was certain the Yoruba would not vote for any party that has General Muhammadu Buhari as a presidential candidate.
According to him, “let me tell you something. ACN has

Social Media critics should “fear God”, Information Minister, Maku says Sani Tukur

The minister claimed critics were using social media to slander Nigerian officials.
The Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, has called on people he said use social media to ‘slander’ the government, to search their conscience and stop the practice.
Mr. Maku, who spoke via his Press Secretary, Joseph Mutah, in a release on Tuesday, was reacting to a publication he said appeared on an online medium.
The minister described as false the story that the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, was interfering in some appointments in the Federal Ministry of Information and parastatals under the Ministry’s supervision.

Coming from a top CEO and Apprentice celebrity owner, Donald Trump is known as one who speaks when he wants to believing freedom of speech is his birth right and of course it is. For a man who hates to be criticized, he must know that twitter is not part of the company he owns. When you speak in public, people will respond and when they do and you disagree with them, does that qualify them to be so labelled?

Barcelona's crushing blow at Bayern feels like a changing of the guard

The defeat in Munich may signal the end of an era and the Bavarians are well placed to step into the Catalan club's shoes

Barcelona's players walk off dejectedly after suffering their biggest European defeat for 16 years at the hands of Bayern Munich. Photograph: Michaela Rehle/Reuters
And so this Barcelona generation comes full circle. That, at least, is the conclusion many were drawing immediately after this astonishing defeat. For many this represented the end of an era. That conclusion is premature but there was a kind of seductive logic to it. Few teams have been as aware of their place in the club's history as this one and, even at their lowest moment, there was a certain symbolism, a symmetry.
Barcelona equalled their worst ever European result, their worst result for well over a decade. They also equalled the result that Barcelona fans will never forget, from 18 May 1994. The Dream Team were the model that Pep Guardiola said all subsequent Barcelona teams sought to emulate. This generation had done so in just about every way; perhaps all that was left was

The boys from Man United-I just love this pictures

Giggs: The boss is the club

The pair have worked in harmony for over two decades of sustained success and, having starred in a 13th Premier League title triumph together, Giggs insists the fighting spirit imbued in United’s players derives from the man at the helm.
“His appetite is second to none,” said the 39-year-old. “Every day he's at the training ground, he's first there, his enthusiasm is brilliant and that feeds through the club. He is the club.
“Everything comes from the manager getting players in, getting the right staff in and he's just an unbelievable manager and an unbelievable person. He deserves everything that he gets because he works hard. I've been very lucky to play under him for so long.”

Manchester United wins 20th Premier League title

Manchester United has won the Premier League title after securing a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Monday.
It is the club's 20th league crown, and Sir Alex Ferguson's 13th of his 27-year reign with the team. With 12 points in its final four games, United would pass Chelsea's Premier League record of 95 points for the season.
The Red Devils moved 16 points clear of Manchester City, which has five games left and 15 points to play for, after Robin van Persie's first-half hat trick secured a comfortable win over Paul Lambert's relegation-threatened side.
The Dutchman, who has now moved one goal ahead of Liverpool's Luis Suarez in the race for the Premier League's Golden Boot, struck his first of the evening from close range after just two minutes, while a stunning

My Take on the increment of schools fees at Babcock University and the emotional expressions which followed.

I am sure that if you did not get any bbm broadcast yesterday, you got the one below or something close to it;
" Students from Babcock University have sent mails complaining about the exorbitant fees they are being made to pay to get an education. The university just released the school fees for the next session and some of the students feel its outrageous. See it below…
(1) Accounting- N1.5million
(2) Nursing- N1million
(3) Law- N2million
(4) Medicine- N3million
(5) Others- N860,000
The students are scared to protest in their school because they could get suspended. Babcock is a Christian University and claims to be a non-profit organization, so students don’t understand why they have to pay such huge amounts for school fees. I think it’s ridiculous. You pay N3million a session to become a doctor and when you eventually get a job, you make less than N200 thousand a month…doesn’t make much sense to me. What do you guys think?"

Yesterday was hot with the above bbm broadcast which according to many was taken from the publication made on LIB. There are many things in life which does not make sense but there

Nigeria info 99.3 fm Football talk and the call for patriotism

While driving today, I tuned my radio to Nigeria info  between 12 and 1pm just so I can keep myself busy and entertained. While listening, I head the guise ( I use this with respect)  in the studio discussing about the Nigeria golden eaglet and the promise made by the football association to give them extra bonus just so they can win. This was not the main topic for the day as the guise discussed and touched on a number of subjects. One particular part of the discussion caught my attention and it was about patriotism. The guise opined that, the golden Eaglets are young boys and that they should be proud playing for Nigeria. They went further to add that, Nigeria is a country of 160 million people and that the boys should be proud playing for the country rather than the NFF promising them additional bonus. This came against the backdrop of the fact that the NFF had reduced its staff strength because of funds. So their point was, rather than promise them more money, encourage this boys to play out of patriotism.

Do I agree with them?

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries settle divorce- it's finally over

It's finally over! After 536 days of bitter negotiations... Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries settle divorce
  • Marriage itself only lasted for 72 days
  • Humphries did NOT attend court
  • Sombre Kim attended as per judge orders

Kris Humphries has decided to settle with Kim Kardashian in their divorce case after battling for a year and a half - and over five times as long as the marriage itself lasted.
According to sources, Kris backed down after no evidence of fraud perpetrated by Kim emerged.
He was then forced to consider mounting legal costs and the prospect of losing any pay-out from his estranged wife - a pre-nup would be invoked if the trial got to court.
