As Christians all over the world mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the federal government has declared Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1, 2013, as public holidays to mark the celebration of Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.
The Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, who made the announcement on behalf of the government, in a statement by the Director, Citizen and Business, Mr. Adetayo Sode, congratulated all christians on the joyous occasion and enjoined them to remain committed to the exemplary attributes of love, tolerance
and peaceful co-existence which Jesus Christ exhibited while on earth.
Comrade Moro further urged Nigerians to pray earnestly to salvage the Nigerian Nation from the perils of insecurity and unhealthy occurrences, irrespective of their religious belief, maintained that the responsibility of liberating the nation from the shackles of damnation was lies in the hands of clerics and parents as well as leaders of the various social groups.
