New security measures at Int Airports !


TO ALL TRAVEL AGENTS AND PASSENGERS:



Please be informed that due to increased security checks at all Nigerian airports including Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos , Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt and Enugu .

In view of the prevailing general insecurity in the country and the onslaught of the dreaded Boko Haram sect the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)  would like to advise the following security procedures effect from 1 May 2014:

• Only crew buses, airport operational vehicles, VIP as well as government and military vehicles would be allowed to approach the Airport terminal building.
• Intending Passengers can no longer be dropped off at the departure area or picked up from the arrival areas of the Airport.
• All intending Passengers (with their luggage) are now to be dropped off at the Airport car park and have the option of either joining the shuttle bus provided by FAAN from the car park, or walking, to the departure terminal.
• Arriving Passengers are to either join the Airport shuttle bus, or walk, to the car park.

Consequently, intending Passengers may experience the following:

• Traffic build up at due to diversion of vehicles approaching the departure area. 
• Risk of missing their flights due to excessive traffic approaching the Airport terminal.
• Authorized vehicles approaching the terminal may also experience delays due to the expected traffic from the diversion of vehicles. Kindly advise your customers of these changes at the Airports and plan towards mitigating the effects on their Airport experience.
